"One Night Stand"
Artist's Commentary

They'll be a hot time in the old town tonight...Wild Rose and the Buffalo Gals are in town for one night. And entertainment is as scarce as beautiful women here in the "backside of nowhere".

Remembering my time at the ranch and how starved we were for diversion and recalling a long ago weekend when the girls of HEE HAW were to appear in West Yellowstone. I dreamed up this painting. This exciting bit of news came via two of the cowboys at supper in the cook house...Gunilla Hutton in person barely 40 miles away at the Frontier Supper Club.

I passed on this opportunity...I had just met Marlys and Marlys had TV...But the boys went to ton in all their finery and tried to wear out their new boots. They had a great time and even the local deputy stood them a round or two...After reaching exhaustion they wove their way home and rounding a curve near Quake Lake rolled their stock truck. They were too "relaxed" to get hurt and when our dutiful deputy arrived at the scene, he promptly issued them DUI's....now that's justice...

I'm sure glad I missed the fun and I'm sure "ONE NIGHT STAND" will be different. After all, horses know their way home and one can fall asleep at the reins.

"ONE NIGHT STAND" is number 11 in the NARROW GAUGE SERIES and was reproduced from the original oil (31"x50"). It is limited to 850 signed by the artist and numbered lithographs with 85 artist's proofs and 85 publisher's proofs. There will be an undetermined number of canvas transfers produced but they will be taken from regular issue numbers and not be an extension of this publication. They will be duly marked as a canvas transfer and the lithograph number will be entered on the image and the artist will sign his name on the canvas in gold ink with the transfer number. This publication is printed on top quality 100% archival (300 years) pH neutral number 1 grade paper with an image size of 19x32" and a 2" trim on all sides. It has been personally inspected and signed by the artist in pencil. The plates have been destroyed after publication and no further issues will be produced.
