"The Windshield Cowboys" You can count on cowboys to come up with new ways to entertain. As soon as cars could accelerate with steers they proved to be great crowd pleasers at local and national rodeos. Novelty acts have always been popular with the crowds. Today, bullfighting clowns and chuchwagon races are big. My favorite performance was the sheepman and his border collies that penned sheep. He also has a small monkey dressed as a 40's movie cowboy that rode a saddled border collie and ran the barrels. Halfway around the barrels, the collie stopped to relieve himself and the little rider folded his arms and gave a disgusting look. These cowboys are using a '29 Ford Roadster warmed up with speed equipment of the day. Hopefully they will soon have enough event winnings to buy one of Henry's hot new '32's with the V-8 engine. The '32 would prove to be a favorite with rumrunners, moonshiners and gangsters as well as the straight and narrow types...and todaythere are more '32 Fords on the road than the factories ever produced thanks to all the new manufacturers cranking out glass and steel versions for all of us deprived children of the '50's who haunted junk yards...to keep their "hot rods" on the road. "THE WINDSHIELD COWBOYS" is number 3 in the ANTIQUE CAR SERIES and was produced from an original oil (28'x40"). It is limited to 850 signed by the artist and numbered lithographs with 85 artist's proofs and 85 publisher's proofs. It is printed on top quality 100% certified archival (300 years) pH neutral number 1 grade paper with an image size of 20"x29" and a 2" trim on all sides. It has been personally inspected and signed by the artist in pencil. The plates have been destroyed after publication and no further issues will be produced.
