Artist Commentary

Gary Carter of West Yellowstone, Montana is a founding member of the NWR Group and has exhibited at the National Academy of Wester Art in Oklahoma City. His Work is found in collections across the United States and his commissions into the year 1985 as of this writing (1981).

"When Starvation is a Finch Away" is another of the artists successful portrayals of the "It Should Have Happened This Way" or an asthenic glimpse into a moment of our Western History.

Gary Carter invites you to share a desperate moment with this free trapper as he stalks what might be his last chance for survival. Now is not the time for flash in the pan flinch. Feel his fatigue and the cold that numbs his hands as he attempts to raise his rifle. Our artist coaxes as aura of cold and desperation from his paint and brushes in creating "When Starvation is a Flinch Away.

This work is reproduced in virtually the original size. This print is limited to 1000, signed in pencil by the artist and numbered. It is printed on Simpson, Plate Finish 100% Cotton Rag Paper. Image size will be 18"x27" with a 2" trim.
